i have recently got very into photography and have started doing it a AS Level at college, and am being bought a digital slr camera for christmas as i only have a regular kodac digital camera. im looking at around a £500 limit so dont want anything to fancy as it will be my first one the main photography i do are portraits xx

I am looking for a Nikon or Canon digital SLR camera for under $500. I have had a Nikon Coolpix L20 for a couple years now and would like to upgrade to a camera with a view finder and manual controls.
