The editor has other problems, especially when reviewer comes back with detailed issues that want to turn the paper into a completely different beast. I agree that the editor gets to choose, and sometimes, it’s to ignore some of what a critical reviewer writes (hey, this isn’t Nature, you know). Can be tough going back and asking for a later review though!

Altough it won`t look stunning, for a newcomer what really matters is the direction, the script, the content.
Yeah, of course image quality matters but it is not basic if the rest of your elements are strong enough.
I think an average 12`000 dls camera is more than enough for a decent quality image.

If you want something really easy for snapshots, the Kodak cameras are really great.
If you want to learn how to use all the special features, probably a canon would be better because kodak cameras don't usually have as many of those. Also, there are panasonic cameras that are really nice. I have one that does most of the things that the SLR cameras will do… It even has a 12X optical zoom, but it's pretty small (for a camera with that type of zoom.) I love it. It was around $400, but that was about 2 years ago so I'm sure they are cheaper now.

SLR are professional grade "film" cameras.
You can add color and warmth into digital photos if they seem washed out with software like photoshop or something free like Gimp.
I have a Canon digital Elph camera with 3X optical zoom. It's lasted me a long time and takes amazing photos. Be sure to get one with anti-blur. That will mess up more photos than anything else.
Most of the point and shoot digital cameras out there will be more than enough Megapixels (8-10+).

Whether you choose film or digital is your personal preference. Either can take wonderful photos. Digital is much more versital but its whatever you like. HWichever you choose your are going to want a SLR camera. I don't know a whole lot abot film cameras but I have a Minolta that used to be my mothers and its great. For digital Canon and Nikon are the most popular brands. Generally, a film camera is going to be cheaper to purchase but the cost of film will add up whereas a digital camera may cost more but you don't have to pay for film.

I'm in the exact same predicament as you, I started a collaborative channel last night (no videos yet) but from what I can understand so far, there is still a chance if you ask companies to review a product of there company they may say yes, however if you have lots of viewers they are more likely to say yes as more people will be seeing there products so its advertising them. A reason they wouldn't let you is incase you stole it when they didn't say you could keep it

SLR is good but $$$ even the inexpensive ones are $500+.
A good point and shoot that has full manual shooting capability will be $250+ and it is the minimum I would recommend for someone who thinks they might get serious about shooting since even if you upgrade later on, you can still learn how to take pictures by using the full manual mode.
Then IF you decide to upgrade to a true SLR/DSLR, you can always use the P&S as a pocket camera while the DSLR/SLR can become your serious shooter.
On the other hand if you decide that Photography is not your thing, it hasn't cost you alot to figure that out.

In terms of image quality, there's barely a difference at all. In terms of build quality, although the Nikon D80 is still has a plastic body like the Nikon d60 and. The Nikon D80 is a little better, and more comfortable in hand. Also, it has a few more professional quirks. Nothing much more over the Nikon D60, other than size. If you want a significant difference, you'll have to look at the Nikon D90, which is much better than the two, and finally has a Magnesium Alloy Body.
There's not much difference- the D80 just a little better.
