All the above information is good stuff.
Here is the list.
CF (Compact Flash) = used by all professional DSLR's
SD / SDHC (Secure Digital … High Capacity) = used by all but three P&S digital cameras and some entry level DSLR cameras
xD (picture cards) = used by Olympus and some Fujifilm cameras
Memory Stick = used only by Sony products.
The advantage of CF and SD cards is there are so many made, their cost per GB is sometimes half of the other two card types.

Fear of public speaking is very common. In your case, although you'll be speaking publicly, your statements will be directed toward the couple. My suggestion is that you remember you'll be talking to the couple, as opposed to the crowd. Focus on them when you talk. Weddings aren't like presentations at work. The crowd is a lot more happy, and a lot less judgmental. I've been to a wedding or two in my day. By the time speeches are made, half of the crowd is half tanked. You should make sure you're not. Save most of your drinking until AFTER your speech is made, but one or two might loosen you up. In the meantime, read your speech over and over again, until you can say it without reading it from a paper. You only need the ML-L3 remote, because the D40 already has the receiver built into the camera. It should cost under $16.
The ML-3 modulite set is for cameras without the built-in infrared receiver, such as the Nikon D3, and thus, the set contains a receiver and the transmitter and is correspondingly more expensive.
The only limitation with the ML-L3 is that with the D40, there's a 15 minute time limit for long exposures. Otherwise, you have a working distance of up to about 15 feet with the infrared transmitter.

the 3 best are canon, nikon or Sony I would say. Best to see if you can handle them at a shop as specs

The Housing and Urban Development in their Grants Available page makes it clear that they do not provide grants to individuals — hence no grants for a person to buy a home

You can go to the Catalog of Federal Domestic Assistance (CFDA) and Grants.gov – these are two FREE sites created by the federal government to provide transparency and information on grants. Browse through the listings and see if you can find any grant that would support your purposes.
Even if you buy books on "how to get grants" or list that supposedly has information on grants — all of them are mere rehash of what CFDA has, albeit packaged differently.
WORD OF CAUTION: When thinking of government grants, go only to a .gov website – that is government website. Don't ever go to a .com, .net or .org website because those sites are just out to scam you
Note though that these grants generally support non-profit organizations, intermediary lending institutions, and state and local governments.
