Manufacturer Description
EN-EL3e Li-ion Rechargeable Battery for Nikon digital SLR cameras. Keeping a spare battery on hand ensures that you will always be ready to capture the images you want most. And, while Li-ion rechargeable batteries are less prone to recharge "memory," using the normal complete charge of one battery before recharging will better ensure optimum rechargeable battery life. A freshly charged spare battery allows this and provides uninterrupted photography.Compatible with:
Nikon D50, D70, D70S, D100, D200 Digital SLR Cameras. Can be used with MB-D200 Multi Power Battery Pack.

To begin with, if you’re looking at this battery, you might have a D200. If so, you have no choice in the matter. Whether it’s 1 star or 5, if you don’t buy this battery you have a $1,700 paperweight (and yes, I’m the proud owner of a D200 in non-paperweight mode).
Second, the battery is not what’s at fault here. The D200 is an energy monster. It sucks these poor little guys dry like a starved man at a all-you-can-eat. (This is the price of the incredible functionality offered by the D200. If you want longer bettery life, you’ll have to give up MUCH of what makes the D200 the powerhouse it is.) The EL3e performs wonderfullly in the D70/50, providing slightly longer life than the recalled EL3a (the third contact on the EL3e is for the D200 only. The 70 & 50 both ignore it).
Bottom line: There is nothing wrong with this battery. If you have a D70 or D50, buy with the assurance it will take many, many shots on a single charge. If you have a D200, buy because you have to then realize that *you* determine how long the battery lives. A VR lens will cut an already “short” battery life even more. So, you can complain about the battery being the issue or the D200 being the issue. Only the latter is correct. If you want long battery life, go back to the D70.
Personal rant: The D200 is worth the reduced battery life in so many ways that I’m actually annoyed with those that complain about this. Sure, the battery could last longer, but why stop there? I’D like 20Mp, ISO speeds to 3200 with no noise at all, a 10-400mm VR lens tack sharp at all apertures with f/1.4 throughout. But you know what? Not gonna happen. The D200 provides FAR more capability than what you actually paid for (just ask D2X users), so stop whining about short battery life. There’s no such thing as the perfect camera. The D200 comes so close, however, it’s almost sacriligious to whine about it. By all means, let’s teach Nikon a lesson! How dare they give us this camera at 2/3 of what they could *easily* sell it for and not give us 800 RAW’s/charge? >:(
And FWIW, you most certainly CAN get 1800 JPG’s from one charge, You just have to do it like Nikon did. Yes, their tests are unrealistic in that respect, but if you’re so upset about it, return the camera and let someone who will appreciate it have their turn…
PS To “Dwarfbug” why did you give the *battery* 2 stars? These reviews are exactly that: reviews. Speak about the product in question. Don’t just respond to someone’s review and drop 2 stars with no explanation why. And also speak about something you know. There is no recall on the D200. There is a recall on the EN-EL3 which will not work in the D200 anyway. It is a D50/D70 battery and is replaced with either the EN-EL3a or the EN-EL3e (the “e” being a pretty sweet deal (some even resell them to D200 users a buy TWO 3rd party EN-EL3a’s (Targus, etc))).
This battery is backwards compatible with the D50, D70/70s, and is used in the D80 and D200. So if you have any Nikon DSLR and want a second battery, you want to get this one so that when you upgrade your camera you can use the battery.
This battery has built-in circuitry that tells you the actual charge status of the battery, and it is accurate. This is a big deal; *if you are using the D200 or D80* it lets you know when your really do need to switch batteries or charge up. This is the first battery I’ve seen that is accurate in this regard. Kudos to Nikon. (This feature does not work in the D50/70/70s but the battery otherwise works fine).
The new Nikon EN-EL3e battery is a slight update for the Nikon EN-EL3 provided with earlier dSLR models such as the D70. It adds a contact that allows new cameras to determine how much charge is left in the battery. The battery is grey to distinguish it from the black EN-EL3.
The EN-EL3e is backwards compatible with the EN-EL3: you can put it in your D70 or D50. The reverse is not true.
The number of pictures that the battery gives you depends on a lot of factors, including shooting style, LCD usage, and of course, camera. (The 2.5″ LCD on the D200 will use up the battery much quicker than the smaller D70.) It is sufficient for a day of shooting. Unless you are using a D200 in some professional capacity, in which case, you’ll probably be investing in at least one backup battery.

Charging it before the battery is low, is not a problem, and neither is leaving it plugged in once it has charged. It should switch over to AC power once it has charged. Rechargeable batteries can only be recharged so many times. Your best bet for keeping your battery for 4 years is to not use it that much. Use AC power when ever possible!

I can’t think of a single great invention that was found by someone blundering about in the dark. The Wright brothers were trying to make an airplane when they did. They studied how to do it and did it. All the engine types we use were invented by people who knew about engines.

I will tell you I searched for 2 months for a battery for my watch I had, had for like 5 years. I never found that size battery and finally gave up because it was wasting my time. I think you need to give up on finding a battery and just treat youself to a new watch.

You choose a fast shutter speed first of all, then find the right aperture to go with it for the proper exposure. What camera are you using? Is it all manual, or does it have shutter priority, aperture priority, etc? Does it have an internal meter like the FM2? You can use the meter to see if your exposure is all right.
Depending on how fast the object is moving, start at 1/250 and go on towards the faster shutter speeds, like 1/2000. Then as you go towards faster shutter speeds, open your aperture up (towards the smaller f numbers) until it goes all the way. Then you can use a ND (neutral density) filter to block light. They're available at camera stores and online.
If you shoot in Jpeg the answer is no. You don't need any special software. If however you shoot in RAW you will need the software that comes with the camera or Photoshop to process the RAW files and convert them to TIFF, Jpeg or any other format. Those are both great cameras but if you don't know what software you need I feel that you will probably be wasting your money. Those camera are not for the beginner. You would be better off buying a lesser model and investing the extra money in good lenses. The lens will make much more of a difference in image quality than the camera body will.

The engine produces all sorts of energy, thermal, mechanical, electrical, What is your question?
Hey,
Shutter speeds will probably have to be from 1/8 to 1/125.
Aperture should be wide opened, I'm guessing you have the 18-55mm f/3.5-5.6 kit lens. So, at 18mm you should have f/3.5 and at 55mm, f/5.6 is the widest
You should raise your ISO to something like 800 or 1600. The higher your ISO, the faster shutter speed you can use.
I recommend you to photograph in 'M-Manual', 'T/S – Where you only select shutter speed, or 'A – where you select the aperture'. Stay away from the automatic modes.
I'm not sure if flash is allowed, plus if you're far away, it won't make a difference.

With P (Program) mode and full autofocus, anyone can take a basic shot with a D300.
BUT, be sure you teach the borrower the correct technique to hand-hold the dslr (right hand on body and left hand under lens). I've seen way too many people handing their dslr's to strangers (take a picture of us, please) and watched as they held the camera body the same way one would hold a compact digital. One ooops, and you have a very expensive paperweight. Be sure they always use the neckstrap and teach them how to use the zoom and how to compose.
Frankly, a D80 or below would be better for loaning out to novices, as they have more automatic modes.

If it scans into a computer, it's a digital scanner. So you are right, your scanner is a digital scanner. If you scan the picture, it will save as an image file on your harddrive. It may even specify where to save it.
An alternative to this is if you have a digital camera. You could hook it up via USB to your computer or by the memory card.
What you have there is an induction charger. In simple terms it works because electricty generates a field. You can see this yourself by placing a compass near a copper wire carrying an electric current. The field generated by the current will move the compass needle. That field will quite happily travel through plastic. Your induction charger utilises that field to generate an electric charge within you toothbrush battery that is capable of recharging it.
You can also by electric kettles or jugs that use induction. They don't need to be plugged diretcly into the circuit instead they rest on a plastic base that contains the wiring that is connected.
I will suggest getting the used one, but I must say I will rather go for the refurbished ones, as they will give you a longer guarantee, and not just selling you the camera via ebay.
If you are not in a hurry to get a new cam, maybe you could save up a little more for the D300, as the prices might fall now the D700 is out. So, wait if you can. Good things come to those who wait
You don't have to splash on expensive zoom lenses at the moment. You could settle for fast prime lenses instead, that will provide you with better quality pictures for less. Get a good camera body, because you know you can not change that often, compared to lenses.
