If you own a D70 you simply can’t be without this item. Because Nikon chose not to include a mechanical cable release option (or an electronic one either), it is difficult to shoot at slow shutter speeds, even on a tripod, without getting camera shake affecting your images. You can use the timer, but that doesn’t always work for your shooting situation. With this remote, you get the same basic operation as a cable release as well as a bonus that you can put yourself in front of the lens and use the remote to trip the shutter release. It also works in combination with the self timer. One small concern is that because it’s an IR remote, you must point it at the sensor, which is on the front of the camera. This can be awkward standing behind a tripod, but not seriously. I really enjoy using this product.
Well…its a remote.
I use it with my d50 and it works to about 30 ft. When I get the shot composed, I press the timer button 2x to get the camera ready to shoot, press the button and step out, or sit down and press the button during group shots.
In bulb mode I do the same. Press the timer 3x to get it ready, press to start the shot and step away. Come back and press the button again and it stops the shot.
Works just like it is supposed to.
One thing to remember is to set the camera’s time to receive the signal. The camera automatically turns the IR off after a certian amount of time. If this happens, it won’t accept it until you turn it back on. If you’ll be taking a lot of shots, just change the camera’s setting to look for the remote for 5 minutes or so.
It’s no surprise that when you stand in front of the camera and push the
button, the remote triggers the shutter. There does seem to be some
confusion in reviews, both here and elsewhere, as to the remote’s ability
to focus the lens before triggering the shutter.
This remote is capable of focusing the lens before triggering the shutter.
However, it will not focus the lens if the photographer has already
pushed the shutter release button on the camera half way down to focus
the image or if you are shooting in Manual mode and have AF-C set as
the Autofocus mode.
This means that if you are composing a photograph and push the shutter
button half way down to focus the image and you then stand in front of
the camera and push the remote button, the image will not focus
because you’ve already pushed the camera shutter release button half
way down to focus. To get the image to focus while you are standing in
front of the camera, compose the shot but do not push the camera’s
shutter release button half way down, get in front of the camera and
then push the button.
would of been helpful if you actually went through the steps you took instead of the blutetooth to set up the the RDP , and yes before you ask its enabled on PC im connecting to , its running XP

You only need the ML-L3 remote, because the D40 already has the receiver built into the camera. It should cost under $16.
The ML-3 modulite set is for cameras without the built-in infrared receiver, such as the Nikon D3, and thus, the set contains a receiver and the transmitter and is correspondingly more expensive.
The only limitation with the ML-L3 is that with the D40, there's a 15 minute time limit for long exposures. Otherwise, you have a working distance of up to about 15 feet with the infrared transmitter.
First step, download the manual or open it up and find out how to change the settings. The router must be broadcasting the signal (thats 1 setting that has to be checked), and it may also be hidding the SSID from public view (another setting you need to check). IF you are sure that wireless is active, and you know the SSID, then you need to set up your laptop under the wireless connection to "find" the router via it's SSID. Windows will do this automatically in most cases.
For that router, the IP address is 192.168.0.1 Reset the device via the small pin hole in back (using paper clip or something) if you do not know the user name and password, then enter user name > ADMIN and password of > Password.
If you do not know the SSID, or if the SSID or signal is not set to broadcast, then you will need to hook up via ethernet
Another setting you may need to check is if the router is broadcasting in "B" or "G", and set the router according to your laptop's wireless card.

Basically there are two methods.
For small turbines (a few kilowatts) the turbine runs at whatever speed it likes, depending on the wind speed. There is a separate electrical converter to change the generated power into AC at mains frequency and synchronize it with the mains.
There may be a simple device to limit the max turbine speed just to prevent mechanical damage – for example a mechanical brake or lock, or spring-loaded turbine blades that spill the wind when the wind speed is high.
Large turbines (producing of the order of 1 MW or more per turbine) run at constant speed, generate power at mains frequency, and are directly coupled into the electricity grid when they are working. The speed is controlled the same way as for conventional power station generators. Without getting lost in the practical details, if the turbine tries to run at the wrong speed it is fighting against the whole of the rest of the power that is being generated in the electricity grid, so it loses the fight. As the wind speed changes, the amount of power generated changes. If the wind speed is too low, the generator acts in reverse as a motor to drive the turbine. (Of course in practice the turbine would be stopped completely, instead of doing that for a long period of time).
The rotational speed for large wind turbines is usually slow (10 or 20 rev/minute) with a gearbox to spin the generator at a higher speed. The blades are variable pitch so they can work efficiently at different average wind speeds.

The best thing to do is try them both out, if possible. See which one is easier to use, in your opinion, and which one is easier to take full advantage of it's features. Also, determine what your main wants are, and make sure the camera you choose can do them……for example, "burst mode" pictures, and optical zoom.
The D40x has 10 megapixels, 3.9 megapixels more than the D40's 6.1 rating. Other than that, they share pretty much the same feature set. The D40x is discontinued, and the D40, being replaced by the D5000, should be ceasing production in the very near future.
We have already talked about the Pentax X90 megazoom digital camera this morning. Pentax also unveiled another new digital cam today in the Optio line called the W90. The Optio W90 is a ruggedized digital camera that can stand up to extreme use. The W90 is a 12.1MP digital cam with a 5x optical zoom aimed at the user who likes to spend time outdoors and wants a camera with them that will survive skiing or other activities. The W90 can survive drops up to four feet and is waterproof to 20 feet. That means the cam can be used for taking pics underwater. Temperatures under freezing won’t stop the W90 and the cam has Eye-Fi SD card connectivity. The rear LCD is a 2.7-inch unit and the camera can record 720p HD movies as well. HDMI out lets you send the movies to your big screen. The W90 will ship in April for $329.95 and Pentax will ship a waterproof remote compatible with the entire Optio line in April for $29.95. It's pretty easy. You do need to have the USB cable that came with your camera. With it turned off, take any card out of the camera, turn it on to "review" mode (the one that you use to look a computers on the back), plug the usb cable into your camera and computer. You may have to click a menu on the camera for something like "PC mode". A window should pop up on the computer that will allow you to open an explorer window to review the images. Copy them over to your hard drive like the camera was any other hard drive.
There’s a new online brouhaha over alleged laptop-spying by a teacher, following the recent horrid remote-spying case in Pennsylvania. But it’s really a fuss over nothing–just normal teaching methods aided by 21st Century tech. The debate rages on over the earlier case in the Lower Merion School District, with deflecting defensive maneuvers by the school itself, and news that the FBI is now investigating. It’s all going on amid a public and very heated argument about the rights to privacy and limitations of the authority of educators. However this fiasco turns out, it seems teachers may have been able to access school laptop’s webcams and monitor what students were doing outside of school time. Which is shameful and has disturbing implications for the right to privacy. And this is precisely why this new school PC privacy matter has caused such a stir. It’s been highlighted by Cory Doctorow over at BoingBoing, picked up from a PBS Frontline documentary. The footage is available…

I guess BlueBell would be one that I would stay away from as it doesn't have as many features as some.
I have only used PhotoMix software for my digital scrapbooking. It works for me as I like to make many collages and such.
